Our mission is to give students the tools and resources to help improve their mental health using music from a neuroscientific and psychological perspective.
Casia means “lavender,” a flower that symbolizes calmness and tranquility. Lavender has often been used to help people relax or de-stress, which is what we hope our initiative will do for students.
As the academic world grows more competitive and the pressure to succeed increases, many students become depressed or anxious. This ongoing issue is personal to our team, as we have all experienced how stressful it can be to be a student at a competitive high school. Casia focuses on using music to help combat this issue as substantial research has demonstrated the effectiveness of music in benefiting one's mental well-being. Along with music, we incorporate neuroscience and psychology to provide students with effective wellness techniques backed by science. This research aspect is integrated by collaborating with professionals and using the latest studies observing the connection between music and mental health from a scientific lens. Our goal is that by providing techniques rooted in neuroscience and psychology, students can be confident in using these methods, helping them to have a better state of well-being and happiness.
